Class List
Course Summary
This course is designed to be the capstone of the M.S. degrees in Operations Research and Systems Engineering. It is intended that it be taken toward the end of the degree
program. The primary activity in the course is the completion of a major applied project, preferably as part of a 2-3 person group. A secondary goal is the consolidation of the student’s training before
graduation.
We will spend the first 2-3 weeks discussing ideas for projects. It is my goal that all the projects be related to one over-riding problem. From these discussions, we will
identify specific project goals, and form groups to work on the projects. During the semester we will use the class time to discuss the projects, monitor their progress, explore alternative approaches, and
rehearse the final presentations.
At the end of the semester, the course will conclude with presentations of the results of the projects to the department faculty. See below for date and time.
