Include:

  • Your name, e-mail address, and (if you want to be contacted by telephone) your phone number.
  • In answering longer questions, have a summary section which gives the essential details of your answer:
    • summary of results
    • tables and/or graphs with numerical results
    • statements of theoretical results
  • Use appendices to provide:
    • detailed derivations of results
    • more detail on numerical results (if needed)
    • listings of your Matlab programs (these must be handed in for computational problems)
  • If the problem involves computation, you must include evidence or commentary to justify why your program is correct.
    • You must report on the correctness and accuracy of numerical results.
    • You must explain any numerical results that are “strange”.  For example, if you get a negative answer for something that should be positive, you must investigate it.
    • You must report (in a table or graph) all numerical tests requested in the problem, as well as any tests that are needed to justify your work.
