Delicato Vineyards is the eighth largest winery in the US. It is a custom wine maker, producing wines to individual specifications.
This results in numerous programs of relatively small volume each year. In the past, controlling this production has been an art
practiced by a small group of highly experienced schedulers and planners working at the winery. As the scale of production has
increased, it has become necessary to automate the production schedule. This project developed an integer programming model for scheduling wine tanks during the fermentation period, the busiest period for the winery.
